August and September Highlights
Make the most of summer during the special extended hours being offered at various attractions through August. Enjoy nighttime tours at the Wild Animal Park's 'Park at Dark', be dazzled by fireworks and live entertainment during SeaWorld's Summer Nights, or join the fiesta celebrating the culture of the Americas at the San Diego Zoo. Quail Botanical Gardens is also open late every Thursday - take in a beautiful sunset while exploring bamboo groves, tropical rainforests or the children's garden.

Art and music buffs will love the festivals taking place in August. Check out La Jolla Music Society's SummerFest, featuring performances from world-class artists and ensembles at a variety of venues. Carlsbad's Art in the Village boasts fine art, sculpture, photography, ceramics and more in a lovely coastal setting, while LeucadiART Walk in Encinitas features 101 artists along a stretch of the historic Highway 101. In September, don't miss Antiques on Mission Street in Oceanside, one of the largest outdoor antiques markets in California.

For a truly unforgettable experience, relive the famous I Love Lucy scene at an old-fashioned grape stomp - try Orfila Vineyards and Winery in Escondido in August, or Ponte Family Estate Winery in Temecula in September.
