Del Mar Thoroughbred Racing Season
The Del Mar Thoroughbred Races is an exhilarating event as the mighty thoroughbreds, colorful jockeys and spectators converge in Del Mar for a thrilling display of action and excitement. The Del Mar Racing season begins each year towards the end of July and runs through the beginning of September for approximately six weeks.

Holiday of Lights
The Holiday of Lights at the Del Mar Fairgrounds is the largest animated drive thru light show on the West Coast. Marvel at over 350 sparkling, twinkling, lively displays located around the racetrack at Del Mar. The Holiday of Lights begins late November, and runs through January 1, Sunday to Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

San Diego County Fair
The San Diego County Fair dates and theme is usually announced sometime in October. "A Salute to Heroes" will be the theme of the 2007 San Diego County Fair. The Fair will be open every day except for the following: June 11&12, 18&19, and 25th. This annual event is the largest in San Diego County and features rides, food, art exhibits, animal exhibits, garden exhibits, live entertainment, shopping and much more.
