Tourism Marketing District has Passed! Thanks to the efforts of the San Diego County Hotel-Motel Association and the San Diego Lodging Industry Association, we are pleased to announce the San Diego Tourism Marketing District (TMD) has passed. Hotels within the city limits of San Diego will add a 2% assessment to their room revenue, generating approximately $30 million for tourism promotion. The San Diego North CVB will receive 10% of this revenue. The TMD assessment will begin on January 1, 2008; San Diego North CVB and our members could start benefiting as early as April 2008. This will strengthen our sales and marketing efforts to benefit our members. We are excited about the growth opportunities in 2008!
