What's New In San Diego North -- Spring/Summer 2008

The Grand Del Mar Resort Now Open
The Grand Del Mar, San Diego North's newest luxury property, recently opened in October 2007. The new 249-room resort offers luxury accommodations, including 31 suites, an 18-hole, 400-acre Tom Fazio-designed golf course, spa and award-winning Addison restaurant. Located on the Los Penasquitos Canyon Reserve, an on-site naturalist is available to lead nature walks, canyon expeditions and mountain bike tours throughout the reserve. Legoland California Adds New Attractions
In March, Legoland California will open its new Land of Adventure, featuring four new attractions and rides. One of the new rides, Lost Kingdom Adventure, the park's first dark ride, will transport guests back to ancient Egypt on a family journey throughout ancient temple ruins as they ride in desert jeeps.

SEA LIFE LEGOLAND California, a two-story 36,000-square-foot aquarium featuring play zones, fun facts, quiz trails and marine exhibits will open this summer. SEA LIFE features will include a seahorse kingdom, a 360-degree ring of sting rays and fish, and an interactive tide pool. For more information, contact htownsend@sandiegonorth.com.

Lux Art Institute Opens in Encinitas
Lux Art Institute, which opened in November 2007, is slated to be the first "green" museum in California and is a one-of-a-kind institution that lets visitors not only see art, but "see art happen". Lux is one of the first museums in the United States to have a program that invites artists to live and work on site, while producing a commissioned work of art. Torrey Pines Hosts U.S. Open
